Do I need to have a samedi patient account to be able to perform a video call?
No, in order to perform a video consultation, you do not need to have a samedi patient account, however, you require a personal e-mail address. The link to start the online consultation will be sent to this e-mail address.
How is it ensured that my data is treated confidentially?
The data is encrypted before, during and after the video consultation and therefore absolutely secure.
How can I book an appointment for a video consultation via samedi?
Video consultation appointments can be booked via the booking link of the institution or via patient.samedi.de. If you activate the filter function for video consulting, only those doctors / practitioner who offer video consulting will be displayed in the doctors search.
Afterwards you only have to select the corresponding appointment type as well as date and time. Depending on the settings of the institution, the appointments can be booked as guest or with a samedi patient account. The precondition for a binding booking, however, is in any case the indication of a valid e-mail address and the agreement to receive instructions on how to perform the video consultation.
After a successful booking you can start the video consultation either directly in your patient account (if available) or via the link you receive in the corresponding e-mail.
Why do I have to provide my e-mail address?
For all patients it is absolutely necessary to enter your e-mail address, because the link for the video consultation will be sent to this e-mail address. Without the link it is not possible for patients to attend the video consultation.
How can I inform the doctor if I cannot make the appointment?
There are several options available to you:
- If the doctor gives these possibilities to his patients, you can cancel your appointment directly in your samedi patient account or via the cancellation link in the e-mail you received from your doctor.
- In all other cases please contact your doctor or the institution directly by phone or e-mail.
When can I start the video consultation?
How does a video call work?
You can start the video consultation shortly before the beginning of the planned appointment through your samedi patient account or the link from the e-mail that was sent to you.
You will then be forwarded to the platform where the video consultation can be started. On this website you will be shown the agreed time of the consultation and the name of the practitioner with whom the consultation will take place. In order to start the appointment, you have to enter your first and last name once and accept the privacy policy. Click on "start video consultation" to start the call. Please check that the website has authorization to use your microphone and camera.
Your healthcare provider will now receive a notification that you are ready and joins the call.
During the video call, you can switch the microphone and camera on and off, switch to full screen mode, share your screen with your practitioner, communicate with your practitioner via an integrated chat window, and end the video call.
What should I do if the doctor does not start the video call at the planned time?
As frustrating as this is, you should wait a few minutes. If the doctor still has not started the video consultation after a few minutes, contact the institution directly by phone.
